LOUISVILLE MISSION MATH

LMM initiates and funds MathCounts programs in Title 1 schools. Our work allows us to spread our passion for math to students and change their perspective on the subject. We try to present it as an art form rather than a monotonous subject they are forced to learn in classrooms.

The LMM Stem + program ventures outside of strictly mathematics and attempts to initiate other STEM programs in middle schools, not necessarily Title 1, to expose students to a variety of opportunities present in the STEM driven world. We firmly believe this program can allow students to find a topic they are passionate about and pursue it. The LMM Stem + program consists of the following sub-programs: LMM Rocketry, LMM Robotics and LMM Chemistry.

This workshop is also focused on instilling basic engineering and design principles within students, but it is done so through a different medium. Robotics, like rocketry, will introduce students to the significance of both the hardware and software components of engineering. This will also be a traveling course.

This is a program that will be initiated at one middle school, meaning it will not be a traveling course. It focuses on initiating a You Be the Chemist program in a middle school. This program will  immerse students into the world of chemistry and prepare them for high school level courses. This program also has a competitive aspect, and coaches will be looking to maximize the success of the team on a national scale.
